How to size your press ons to make sure it fits you nails

Getting the right size is key to making your press-ons look flawless and feel comfortable. Follow the steps below to measure your nail plate accurately at home.

What You’ll Need:

• A flexible measuring tape (ideally for sewing) OR a piece of tape and a ruler

• Pen or fine-tip marker

• Good lighting

• Clean, natural nails (remove any polish or enhancements first)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Option 1: Using a Measuring Tape

1. Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your natural nail plate — usually right across the middle.

2. Record the width in millimeters (mm) for each nail (thumb to pinky).

3. Repeat for all 10 fingers — your sizes may vary slightly between hands.

Option 2: Using Tape and a Ruler

1. Cut a small strip of clear tape.

2. Place it over your nail horizontally at the widest point.

3. Mark the edges of your nail on the tape with a pen or marker.

4. Remove the tape and place it on a ruler to measure the distance between the marks in millimeters (mm).

5. Record each measurement (thumb to pinky).
